Choose the right tires for your Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV,
The Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV are very popular compact sport utility vehicles, or CUV's. They're all-wheel drive, fun to drive with a good combination of handling, reliability, and fuel economy.
And I've found that most drivers fit into three categories, so here's my favorite for the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV:
The Go Anywhere's: Drivers who like to drive anywhere, on-road and off, Drivers who like to be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws their way. Because these tires have aggressive, all-weather tread designs, you might sacrifice a little ride comfort, but you'll get boat-loads of durability, traction, and looks. Rugged All-Season tires like the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 and Michelin Defender LTX are my top choices for the "Go Anywhere" driver.
The Commuters: Drivers who just like to get in and go. For the"Commuters", a tire is a tire is a tire; they're just looking for the best combination of fuel economy, tread-life, smooth ride, and price. Top choices are the General Altimax RT43, a solid performer at a low price, backed by a 75,000 mile treadwear warranty and new Michelin Premier A/S, which is a bit pricey, but packed full of technology that stops you shorter and "Evergrip" technology that actually exposes new tread grooves to improve the grip as tire wear down.
The Performers: This is me! Because even though it's a Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV, there's no reason I can't make it handle like the Mustang I traded in when the kids came along. Performance CUV tire like the Nexen Aria AH7 and Falken ZE950 are a great compromise of practicality and performance.
